Spartans Rally To Beat Broncos

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State women's tennis team battled to the end but was bested by San Jose State 4-3 Sunday evening at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center.
Doubles was a tightly-contested affair in which the Broncos (8-5, 1-1 MW) won on court three before the Spartans (7-6, 2-0 MW) responded with a victory on court two. With the score at No. 1 deadlocked at five, Nicole Discenza and Lorelyz Marruffo won the next two points to seal the doubles point and the 1-0 lead overall.
San Jose State responded in singles by taking two-straight matches on courts two and three, taking a 2-1 lead over Boise State. Pauline Ernstberger dominated her match on court one in straight-sets to even things up at two, and Nicole Discenza won at the No. 6 position to put Boise State ahead 3-2. The Spartans rallied once again, winning two-straight three-set matches to close it out down the stretch.
