COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State's Leia Chung was named the Mountain West Women's Golf Freshman of the Week following her performance at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic at the Ka'anapali Golf Course, March 27-29.
The accolade marks Chung's third conference freshman of the month or week honor this season. She is the first women's golf student-athlete in Bronco history to earn multiple MW accolades in a single season.
Chung led Boise State in Hawaii, shooting 217 (69-73-75, +1). She finished tied for 19th in the field of 80 student-athletes and secured her fourth top-25 finish this season.
A native of Wahiawa, Hawaii, Chung tied her career-low round, firing a 69 during the first day of the tournament.
Next, Boise State travels to Maricopa, Ariz., for the Cowgirl Classic, April 3-4. The tournament marks Boise State's last competition before the conference championship.
