
Boise State Tallies Two Home Victories

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State added two more wins to its record on the first day of the Boise State Beach Classic, Friday. The Broncos (16-5, 4-2 SLC) defeated Utah, 3-2, in the first match of the day before taking down Oregon, 4-1.
Kaylee Mejia and Elli Wolthuis got Boise State on the board first, winning in straight sets to give the Broncos a 1-0 lead. The Utes (6-14, 0-3 PAC) picked up a win at the No. 2 spot to even the score, but Boise State won matches at the No. 3 and No. 5 positions to secure the win.
Ava Anderson and Rorianna Chartier won in straight sets on the No. 2 court to get off to a quick start against the Ducks (6-15, 0-2 PAC). Mejia and Wolthuis won in three sets to extend the lead by one while Joey Benson and Aris Vetter pulled off a two-set win at the No. 5 position to clinch another Bronco victory. Emilia Guerra-Acuña and Lily Patock pulled off a comeback victory on the No. 3 court to solidify the 4-1 win.
