Broncos Win First Game in Series Against Aggies

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State softball routed Utah State 11-2 in a five-inning run-rule victory to open a three-game conference series at Dona Larsen Park Friday, April 21.
The Aggies (15-20, 6-8 Mountain West) were the first team to score with a run in the first inning.
In the bottom of the second, Mykenzie Hanna recorded a two-RBI single and Kelsey Hall collected an RBI with a bases loaded walk to get the Broncos (25-12, 11-2) on the board and give them a 3-1 lead.
Utah State added a run in the third to cut the lead to 3-2, but the bats erupted for the Blue and Orange as they scored eight runs at the bottom of the frame.
Alycia Flores and Hall each doubled and tallied two RBI, while Hanna knocked a two-RBI single. The icing on the cake came from a two-run home run by Jordyn Hutchins.
Taylor Caudill (11-7) went the distance, giving up only one hit in the final two innings to earn the win in the circle for Boise State.
