PROVO, Utah – Max Charles shot low from the opening round and won the 58th Annual PING Cougar Classic in record-breaking fashion. This is the fifth-year senior's third career victory – he has won a tournament in all three years of his Bronco career.

Charles carded rounds of 68-63-66 to set the program record for 54-hole score in both total strokes (197) and in relation to par (-19). Both records were previously held by Troy Merritt: 199 (2008 OGIO Pacific Coast Intercollegiate) and -18 (2008 Ron Moore Invite).
