
Three Broncos Earn All-Mountain West Postseason Honors

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Boise State's Simon Arca Costas, Michael Bott and Sam Sippel have been named to the 2023 Mountain West Men's Tennis All-Conference Team as announced by the league Tuesday night in Las Vegas.

The three earned a combined four honors this spring with Arca Costas garnering all-conference recognition in both singles and doubles, while Sippel was acknowledged for his singles play and Bott for his doubles performance playing alongside Arca Costas.

Arca Costas will wrap up his collegiate career as a six-time All-MW honoree, three in singles and three in doubles. The native of Vigo, Spain, previously earned accolades in singles for the 2021 and 2022 seasons, while receiving doubles honors for the 2020 and 2022 campaigns.

As a fifth-year senior in 2023, Arca Costas has a team-high 30-5 record in singles with an active 21-match win streak. In doubles, he has a 27-12 record on the year and is 20-6 with Bott as his partner. Arca Costas is a four-year starter for the Broncos and ranks in the top 10 at Boise State for combined career victories with 177, career singles victories with 101, career singles win percentage at 71.7 percent, single-season win percentage for singles at 85.7 percent this year, and career doubles victories with 76.

Sippel earned his first All-MW honor since transferring to Boise State last summer. The junior played the No. 1 position most of the year for the Broncos recording a 16-9 overall mark heading into the conference championship tournament.

Bott earned his first All-MW accolade this spring. The honor came for his doubles play where he tallied a team-best 29-10 overall record, including a 20-6 mark with Arca Costas as his partner. The duo went 19-5 this spring with a 10-3 mark at the No. 1 position. Â

The San Clemente, Calif., native's 29 wins in doubles this year is tied for the fifth most for a single season in program history.

The Boise State trio will lead their Bronco teammates against the San Diego State Aztecs in the first round of the Mountain West Championship which starts Wednesday evening in Las Vegas.
