Broncos Shut Out Bengals in Final Nonconference Game

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State won 11-0 against Idaho State, recording its fourth-straight five-inning run-rule victory Wednesday afternoon.

Lindsey Walljasper (12-3) held the Bengals (13-24) to only three hits in four innings to earn the win for the Blue and Orange. Taylor Caudill pitched the fifth to combine for the shutout.

The Broncos (28-12) were first to get on the board when Kelsey Hall drove in a run with a double to right field in the bottom of the first.

In the second inning, Autumn Bennett crossed home plate off a wild pitch, followed by a two-RBI double by Mykenzie Hanna and a two-run homer by Serena Huchingson to increase Boise State's lead to 6-0.

The Blue and Orange extended its lead further to earn the mercy-rule win in the final two innings when Hanna recorded a sacrifice fly, Hall knocked a two-RBI double and Whalen smashed a two-out two-run, pinch-hit homer.
