Broncos Named USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams

NEW ORLEANS - The Boise State men's and women's track and field teams earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic honors, announced Thursday. In addition, five Broncos were named USTFCCCA All-Academic Athletes.

In order to be eligible for all-academic honors, teams must earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.

The women's team posted a GPA of 3.6 while the men's team recorded a 3.18 GPA.

This marks the seventh-consecutive USTFCCCA All-Academic award for both the men's and women's teams. In total, it is the 14th award for the women and ninth for the men.

For individual honors, student-athletes must achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 and complete two semesters at the nominating institution. Athletically, during the indoor season, student-athletes must have finished the season ranked in the top 96 in any championship event or in the top 48 in any championship relay event. Outdoors, student-athletes must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Track & Field Championships or for multi-events, finished in the top 48 in either the East or West.

Yasmin Marghini (3.285, Psychology), MaLeigha Menegatti (4.0, Workplace Performance Graduate Certificate), Nyenuchi Okemgbo (3.407, Communication), Autumn Ost (3.439, Mechanical Engineering) and Kaiya Robertson (4.0, Health Science) were among the five that earned individual USTFCCCA All-Academic recognition.
