Howard Finished Fifth at USATF Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Former Bronco Marisa Howard finished fifth in the women's 3,000m steeplechase at the 2023 USATF Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field, Saturday night.

Howard crossed the finish line in fifth with a time of 9:22.73, ten seconds behind champion Krissy Gear who had a time of 9:12.81. That mark was her fastest of the season and only four-hundredths of a second off her lifetime best.Â

In the first round of the race, Howard finished third in her heat with a time of 9:38.19, earning an automatic qualifying spot in the finals.

Kristie Schoffield (2:02.66) and MaLeigha Menegatti (2:04.62) placed fifth and eighth, respectively, in their heats in the first round of the women's 800m at the 2023 USATF Outdoor Championships, Thursday afternoon.
