Offensively, Eric McAlister caught six passes for a career-high 143 yards and a pair of scores while Ashton Jeanty added three touchdowns on the ground.
On Boise State's second drive of the day, Taylen Green escaped the pocket to run for an 8-yard touchdown. North Dakota (2-1) responded on the first play of the second quarter with a 1-yard rushing touchdown by tight end Quincy Vaughn, who took a direct snap. The PAT was missed and the Broncos (1-2) led 7-6.
Ashton Jeanty continued the trend of short-yardage rushing scores, punching it in from two yards out to cap an 11-play, 85-yard drive. After Marco Notarainni's sack and forced fumble was recovered by Andrew Simpson, Jeanty barreled in for a 1-yard touchdown to give Boise State a 21-6 lead at the half.
The Broncos struck first in the third quarter, as Green hit McAlister in stride for a 28-yard touchdown. The Fighting Hawks responded with a pair of touchdowns off Bronco turnovers. Both times, the 2-point conversion failed and Boise State led 28-18 with 4:26 left in the third quarter.
Boise State put the game away on Jeanty's 1-yard scoring plunge with 10:48 to play and capped the scoring on a 27-yard pass from Maddux Madsen to McAlister with 3:43 remaining.
