WOLCOTT, Colo. – Boise State women's golf finished fourth of 16 teams at the Golfweek Red Sky Classic, shooting 892 and placing four student-athletes in the top-30. Teal Matsueda was the team's top finisher for the second-straight event, tying for 12th with a score of 218. Behind her was Leia Chung, who tied for 17th at 221. Jillian Hui played as an individual and tied for 23rd with a score of 223, while Hannah Lim shot 225 to tie for 27th. Franca Polla and Annie Buffolino made their season debuts to round out the Bronco lineup.

"We had some great stretches this week on a fantastic golf course. We need to learn how to minimize the damage when we make mistakes," said head coach Kailin Downs. "I'm confident we're learning those lessons early in the season. I continue to be impressed with the youth of the team and how they step up when needed."

NOTABLES

Boise State averaged 4.83 strokes on par 5s, the second-best average in the tournament. They trailed tournament champion Pepperdine, who averaged 4.77.
The Broncos climbed six spots in the team standings on the second day, jumping from 10th to fourth.
Boise State had a golfer score 71 in each round, the lowest score of the season. Leia Chung was -1 in the opening round, then Teal Matsueda shot 71 in the second round. On the final day, Jillian Hui was -1.
Matsueda (218), Chung (221), Hui (223), and Hannah Lim (225) all improved on their scores from the season-opening Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational.
The team tied for fourth in total birdies with 40.
Annie Buffolino and Teal Matsueda both had an eagle, the team's first two of the season.
