Broncos Travel to Utah for Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad

THE MEET:Â Boise State is scheduled to travel to West Valley City, Utah, for the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad on Friday. The meet begins at 7 p.m. at the Maverik Center, where the Blue and Orange will face Arizona, No. 16 Nebraska and No. 33 North Carolina.

MW WEEKLY AWARDS:Â Seniors Courtney Blackson and Emily Lopez each captured their first Mountain West Specialist of the Week accolade of the 2024 season. Blackson was named the Floor Specialist of the Week, after scoring a 9.875, while Lopez was named Co-Bars Specialist after earning a 9.875 as well. The pair secured the Broncos' highest score in their dual against Utah.

LAST TIME OUT:Â In its season-opening competition, Boise State score a 194.350 against No. 4 Utah. Senior Courtney Blackson led the team, earning the top scores on both vault (9.825) and floor (9.875). Senior Emily Lopez earned the meet's second-highest score on bars (9.875). Sophomores Sydney Kho (9.675) and Sydney Leitch (9.750) recorded career-bests on beam, while junior Elaina McGovern (9.700) earned a career-best on vault. Six Broncos eclipsed the 9.800 mark - Blackson on floor and vault, Lopez on bars, Emma Loyim, McGovern and Blake Pascal on floor and Adriana Popp on vault.

ABOUT THE OPPONENTS: Arizona checked in 22nd in the WCGA Preseason Rankings with the Sprouts Farmers Market Collegiate Quad marking the Wildcats' first competition of the 2024 season. No. 16 Nebraska opened the 2024 season ranked 27th, rising 11 spots after defeating Iowa State, 196.125-195.825, marking the Huskers' highest season-opening score since 2014. No. 33 North Carolina started off the 2024 season hosting the UNC Quad Meet, earning a score of 193.725. The Tarheels defeated Rutgers and Utah State, finishing second to Ball State.
