BOISE, Idaho – Boise State women's basketball used a dominant second quarter on its way to defeat Utah State, 76-41, Saturday, at ExtraMile Arena.
Entering the second frame leading 13-9, the Broncos (13-6, 4-2 Mountain West) scored the first 26 points of the second period to gain a 30-point lead with 2:58 left in the half. Boise State held the Aggies (3-15, 0-7 MW) to 21.4% shooting in the first half to take a 41-15 lead into the locker room.
The Bronco offense got off to a slow start in the third quarter, but a 12-2 run midway through the period gave the Blue and Orange a 57-22 lead. Boise State's advantage grew to 37 off a pair of Jayda Clark free throws, as the team led 61-25 entering the final frame. The Broncos expanded their lead to 46 at the media timeout in the final quarter as the team picked up their fourth-straight victory.Â
