
Broncos in the NFL: Week Eight

BOISE, Idaho – Ten former Broncos are set to represent Boise State during a busy weekend of NFL action. All 32 teams will play, with Brett Rypien and the Minnesota Vikings kicking things off on Thursday night against the Los Angeles Rams. The other nine Broncos will compete on Sunday, including Scott Matlock and Cedrick Wilson Jr., who will meet when the Chargers play the Saints.
THURSDAY
Minnesota Vikings (Brett Rypien) at Los Angeles Rams – Prime Video, 6:15 p.m.
Last Week: Rypien did not play in Minnesota's 31-29 loss to the Detroit Lions.
SUNDAY
Atlanta Falcons (Avery Williams) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers – FOX, 11 a.m.
Last Week: Williams contributed on special teams in Atlanta's 34-14 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The Boise State product made a solo tackle on the opening kickoff and returned the second half kickoff 21 yards. He tied for the team-high in special teams snaps, playing 23.
Jacksonville Jaguars (Ezra Cleveland) vs. Green Bay Packers – FOX, 11 a.m.
Last Week: Cleveland helped the Jaguars to a 32-16 win over the New England Patriots, Jacksonville's second-straight game in London. The Jaguars totaled 171 yards and two touchdowns on the ground while passing for 193 yards and one touchdown. Cleveland played every offensive snap for the seventh time this season.
Los Angeles Chargers (Scott Matlock) vs. New Orleans Saints (Cedrick Wilson Jr.) – FOX, 2:05 p.m.
Last Week: Matlock played 33 snaps for the Chargers, contributing in all three phases. Los Angeles fell to the Arizona Cardinals, 17-15. Wilson Jr. had six receptions for 57 yards, his highest single-game numbers since 2021. His six catches marked the second-highest total of his career. The Boise State product had a 17-yard reception in the fourth quarter and scored a 12-yard touchdown on the next play, his first score of the season. He played a season-high 58 snaps as New Orleans fell to the Denver Broncos, 33-10.
Buffalo Bills (Khalil Shakir) at Seattle Seahawks – FOX, 2:05 p.m.
Last Week: Shakir had a season-high seven receptions, also a team-high, totaling 65 yards. He gained a pair of first downs and broke two tackles. Five of his receptions came on one drive, which culminated with a Bills field goal, helping Buffalo to a 34-10 win over the Tennessee Titans.
Las Vegas Raiders (Alexander Mattison) vs. Kansas City Chiefs – CBS, 2:25 p.m.
Last Week: Mattison started at running back for the Raiders, totaling a team-high 23 carries for 92 yards. He also caught three passes for 31 yards, giving him a season-high 123 all-purpose yards. He collected 70 yards after contact, breaking four tackles. Las Vegas was defeated by the Los Angeles Rams, 20-15.
Denver Broncos (JL Skinner) vs. Carolina Panthers – CBS, 2:25 p.m.
Last Week: Skinner played 21 special teams snaps in Denver's 33-10 win over the New Orleans Saints. He recorded a pair of tackles on kickoff coverage, including a booming hit in the second quarter.
Washington Commanders (John Bates, Jeremy McNichols) vs. Chicago Bears – CBS, 2:25 p.m.
Last Week: McNichols ran the ball seven times for 42 yards and made a special teams tackle, while Bates played 29 offensive snaps and 11 special teams snaps. The Commanders totaled 421 yards of offense, defeating the Carolina Panthers, 40-7.

Led by Spencer Danielson in his first full season, Boise State looks to become the first Mountain West program to win back-to-back championships since San Diego State did so in 2015-16. Achieving such a feat will put Boise State in the discussion for the new, expanded, 12-team College Football Playoff format beginning this fall. Last year, Danielson became the first coach in college football history to win a conference championship with an interim title.
