WHAT'S NEXT: Boise State beach volleyball will compete in its second tournament of the fall season, Oct. 26-27, in the Surf City Collegiate Challenge in Huntington Beach, California. It is the third-straight season the Broncos will compete at event.
THE FORMAT: The event features three divisions – the Championship Division, the AA Division and the A Division. Each division will consist of 32 pairs. Teams from over 13 schools will be competing at the two-day event, including USC, UCLA, Washington, Arizona and Saint Mary's.
THE PAIRS:
Championship Division: Allyson Alden/Addison Wolden, Ava Anderson/Avery Allen, Lily Patock/Summer McCann
AA Division: Susannah Barnett/Abbie Wolf, Emilia Guerra-Acuña/Addison Moss, Charlee Ellena/Sharli O'Neil
A Division: Nora Hayd/Aris Vetter, Makayla Dimond/Elli Wolthuis, Avery Bowidowicz/Anika Christensen, Angelena Greene/Mya Jackson.
HOT START: The Broncos made quite the impression on their first weekend of the fall season, as Anderson and Wolden won the Spokane AVCA Pairs Tournament in their debut as a pair. Seven Bronco pairs finished the weekend with a winning record, including an undefeated performance from Avery Allen and Lily Patock (6-0).
PROGRAM HISTORY: Boise State will send two pairs – the maximum allotment – to the AVCA National Pairs Championship for the first time in program history. The Broncos have sent one pair to the event in each of the last two seasons, and earned the bid through Anderson and Wolden's victory in Spokane. The duo will join Allyson Alden and Emilia Guerra-Acuña at the three-day event, which begins Nov. 15 in Huntsville, Alabama.
