Broncos Open Regular Season Against Eastern Oregon

WHAT'S NEXT: Boise State women's basketball will open the 2024-25 regular season against Eastern Oregon, Monday at 6:30 p.m. MT in ExtraMile Arena. The game will be broadcast on the MW Network and 670 KBOI.
 
LAST TIME OUT: The Broncos routed Bushnell 87-38 during Saturday's exhibition at ExtraMile Arena. Teryn Gardner came off the bench to score a team-high 15 points, while Tatum Thompson recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
 
THE OPPONENT: The Mountaineers have lost the two exhibition contests they have played so far this season, losing to Eastern Washington, 81-61, and Whitman College 52-44. Eastern Oregon was picked fourth in the Cascade Collegiate Conference women's basketball preseason rankings. The Broncos hold a 14-2 all-time series advantage over the Mountaineers.
 
THE BRONCOS: Boise State returns 92.9% of the team's scoring last season, the most in the Mountain West. The squad returns 12 letterwinners, including all five starters, from a squad that finished 21-14, reached the semifinal round of the MW Tournament and made an appearance in the Women's National Invitational Tournament. The Broncos were picked to finish fourth in the league's preseason poll.
 
WHO TO WATCH: Natalie Pasco was one of 10 players named to the MW Preseason All-Conference team. The junior guard was the team's leading scorer at 13.2 points per game, and her 463 points on the season were the 10th-most in program history. Mya Hansen also returns for her junior season, after averaging 10. 2 points and 3.0 assists per game last season and shooting 42.1% from beyond the arc. Abby Muse, the program's all-time leading shot blocker, returns for her fifth-year on the squad as does Mary Kay Naro, one of two players in program history that has dished out 100+ assists in four consecutive seasons.
 
THE STAFF: Head coach Gordy Presnell will return for this 20th season at the helm for the Blue and Orange. With 751 career victories, Presnell is one of six active Division I women's basketball head coaches with over 750 victories.
