Boise State Announces Jeramiah and Elizabeth Dickey True Blue Scholarship

Funds will be awarded annually to an Idaho resident
BOISE, Idaho – Boise State announced a new Jeramiah and Elizabeth Dickey True Blue Scholarship that will be awarded annually in perpetuity to an Idaho resident for four years, based primarily on financial need and merit. The scholarship was created in partnership between Boise State athletic director Jeramiah, his wife Elizabeth and longtime Boise State donors and Lyle Smith Society members Randy and Lisa Hales.Â
"From day one, we were embraced, encouraged and supported by Bronco Nation," said Jeramiah Dickey. "Our family is so grateful to be Broncos and we want to pay it forward. Elizabeth and I are humbled by this opportunity. Thank you Randy and Lisa for your continued support of our mission and vision! It takes a team and we are honored to represent the Blue and Orange."
Randy Hales is a Boise State Foundation board member and the Unbridled campaign chair. The True Blue Scholarship, a priority of the Unbridled campaign, empowers Idaho resident students to achieve their full potential, regardless of their circumstances.Â
Unbridled: The Campaign for Boise State University aims to raise $500 million by 2028 and focuses on three key pillars: student access and success, relentless faculty innovation and What's Next for athletics. True Blue Scholarships are eligible for the Boise State Foundation's Scholarship Endowment Bridge Program, which provides a match for these types of scholarships and allows donors to see the impact of their philanthropy right away.
Randy and Lisa were inspired to leverage the Unbridled bridge match by creating this True Blue Scholarship for Idaho students with and in honor of Jeramiah and Elizabeth.Â
The Hales have a history of collaborating with local leaders to make an impact across the campus, including former head football coach Chris Petersen to name the imagination lab in COBE's MBEB and they recently launched another scholarship with and in honor of COBE's Dean Mark Bannister and his wife Melanie.Â
"We share the belief with Jeramiah and Elizabeth that education is one of the most transformative investments we can make," said Randy Hales. "The True Blue Scholarship provides a resource for Idaho natives to realize their dreams."
The scholarship will be managed through the President's True Blue Endowed Scholarship that has helped Idaho residents attend college through the True Blue Promise Scholarship since 2016.Â
