Broncos Face Washington State on CBS at Idaho Central Arena

WHAT'S NEXT: Boise State men's basketball will square off against Washington State on Saturday at 2 p.m. MT inside Idaho Central Arena. The game will be nationally televised on CBS, with Tom McCarthy, Bill Raftery and Jay Wright on the call. 

NEUTRAL SITE VS. WASHINGTON STATE: In each of the last three meetings between the two teams, the game has been played at a neutral site, with Boise State winning two of the three contests. The Broncos defeated Washington State, 58-52, on Dec. 22, 2021 in Spokane, Wash., and 71-61 on Nov. 12, 2022 at Idaho Central Arena. The Cougars won the last head-to-head matchup, 66-61, on Dec. 21, 2023 in Spokane.

DOUBLE FIGURES: With six victories in its first eight games this season, Boise State has won five of those contests by double figures. The Broncos have won games by 44, 35, 23, 14 and 13 points. 

LAST TIME OUT: In Boise State's last game on Tuesday night against Utah Tech, the Broncos defeated the Trailblazers, 87-64. The team shot over 52% from the field and had four players score in double figures, including forward Tyson Degenhart who tallied 21 points without missing a shot (7-7 FGs, 6-6 FTs).

OFFENSIVE FIREPOWER: While outscoring opponents by an average of 14.7 points this season, the Broncos are averaging 82.3 points per game which ranks 63rd in the country. The team has scored at least 83 points in six of its eight games this season.

DISHING IT: Against Utah Tech on Tuesday night, guard Alvaro Cardenas totaled 10 assists, tying his collegiate career high. He is the first Bronco since Chandler Hutchinson in 2017 to tally double-digit assists in a single game.

THE OPPONENT: Entering Saturday's game, Washington State has compiled a 7-2 record and are 2-2 in neutral site games this season. The Cougars, who won their last game at Nevada, 68-57, are currently 69th in net rankings. The team averages 82.0 points per game, which ranks 66th in the country.
