2/10/2024 10:23:00 PM | Men's Basketball

LOGAN, Utah – Boise State couldn't overcome a cold night shooting from the field in an 80-61 loss at No. 22/21 Utah State, Saturday at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

The Broncos shot 35.6% from the field and couldn't keep the game close enough with an 8-4 run by the Aggies to open the second half. Boise State (16-8, 7-4 MW) trailed by double figures for the entire second half.

Quotable
  • "Utah State had it going tonight with coming off two losses and being a strong team," said head coach Leon Rice. "They got it rolling from three and shot the ball really well. This has been a tough road stretch with a lot of big emotions, ups and downs but we're a tough team."
Top Broncos
  • Tyson Degenhart scored 17 points to go with eight rebounds and two assists.
  • Max Rice had 12 points, five boards and two assists.
  • O'Mar Stanley recorded 11 points, four rebounds and a block.
Notable

  • The loss places Boise State in a tie for second in the conference with Colorado State, New Mexico and San Diego State.
  • This is only the seventh time in the Leon Rice era Boise State has been held below 36% from the field while the opponent shot above 50%.
  • Mason Falslev's 25 points are tied for the third most by an opposing player this season.
