BOISE, Idaho – Boise State beach volleyball will add Allyson Alden for the 2024-25 season, head coach Allison Voigt announced on Thursday.

Alden, who will join the Bronco program with two years of eligibility, will transfer to Boise State from MiraCosta College in San Diego, Calif. Previously, she played both beach and indoor volleyball for San Jose State.

The San Marcos, Calif., native has already begun her season at MiraCosta, playing at the No. 1 position and leading the squad to a 2-2 record. Before that, Alden was on the beach and indoor volleyball roster at San Jose State from 2020-23. As a freshman, she finished a team-best 6-4 on the season, including a three-set victory over No. 10 California's Ava Mann and Alexia Inman alongside partner Mia Schafer.

"We're very excited to have Allyson join our program," Voigt said. "She's going to bring a ton of experience to our roster, and we always love to have more height and physicality at the net. She's a really fun person to have on the team and is going to fit right in."

Alden will be one of six new faces on the Bronco roster for the 2024-25 season, joining freshman Avery Allen, Susannah Barnett, Charlee Ellena, Angelena Greene and Addison Moss on the roster.

Coming off the best season in program history, the Broncos will open the season Feb. 23 at the Cactus Classic in Tucson, Ariz. Boise State will play Cal State Bakersfield at 9 a.m. MT in the opening match.
