
Groves Captures Player of the Week Award

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State sophomore infielder Sydney Groves was named Mountain West Player of the Week for Feb. 12-18, the conference announced, Monday.
It is the first player of the week award for Groves. Last season, she was twice named conference freshman of the week.
The Meridian, Idaho native batted .545 (6-for-11) during the first-four games of the Maverick Invitational in Arlington, Texas and led the Broncos to three wins.
She collected two doubles, three home runs and four walks for a .667 on-base percentage, 1.545 slugging percentage and 2.212 OPS.
Groves drove in 12 runs, including tying a school single-game record with eight against DePaul, Feb. 17.
It is the second-consecutive week the Broncos have garnered MW Player of the Week honors after Sophia Knight was the week one recipient.
