
Broncos Have Five Podium Finishes at Indoor Championships

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Boise State track and field earned five medalist honors to conclude the 2023-24 Mountain West Indoor Championships, Saturday at the Albuquerque Convention Center.Â
The Broncos started off the three-day meet strong with a runner-up finish from Julia Kiesler in the women's 5,000-meters with a time of 16:55.07. The men's distance medley relay team, composed of Tom Graham-Marr, Trevor Cogley, Anass Mghari and Ollie Newman, also took home a podium-finish, finishing the relay in third in 10:09.50.
Day three of the meets started with another podium-finish, this one coming from Kaiya Robertson as she got third in the women's mile with a time of 4:48.16. Ollie Newman followed in the next race with a silver-medal finish in the men's mile in 4:12.26.
Yasmin Marghini continued the distance success, earning a bronze medal finish in the women's 3,000-meters in 9:35.97.

- Julia Kiesler's second-place finish in the women's 5,000m marked the highest finish in the event by a Boise State freshman since Brenna Peloquin earned second in 2016.
- Kaiya Robertson's podium-finish in the women's mile marked the first for the Broncos in the event since Allie Ostrander earned second in 2019.
- Ollie Newman finished second in the mile in 4:12.26. He was also a member of Boise State's third-place distance medley relay team.Â
