WHAT'S NEXT
Boise State will host San Jose State, Wednesday, Feb. 7, at 6:30 p.m. MT at ExtraMile Arena. The game will be broadcast on the MW Network and on 670 KBOI AM. ÂÂ
THE OPPONENT
The Spartans (6-15, 1-8 MW) enter Wednesday's contest on a seven-game losing streak. The two teams squared off previously on Jan. 17, with Mya Hansen hitting a reverse layup with 21 seconds left to secure a 68-64 victory.Â
LAST TIME OUT
The Broncos (14-8, 5-4 MW) found themselves back in the win column last Wednesday, defeating Fresno State 60-50. Tatum Thompson scored a career-high 21 points, with 15 coming in the second half.Â
MW ACCOLADES
Thompson's career-night was recognized by the conference on Monday, as the sophomore was named the MW Player of the Week. The Woodinville, Wash., native became the first Bronco to receive the recognition since teammate Elodie Lalotte took home the award on Nov. 21 2022. Thompson also became the fourth sophomore on the roster to earn a weekly MW award, as Dani Bayes, Mya Hansen and Natalie Pasco all earned MW Freshman of the Week honors.Â
CONSISTENT THREAT
Pasco has been on fire over the past few games, hitting three or more 3-pointers in each of her last four games. The sophomore has shot 15-of-28 (53.6%) during that span. Pasco is currently eighth nationally in 3-point percentage (45.8%), 20th in total 3-pointers (60) and 23rd in 3-pointers per game.Â
MOVING UP
Head coach Gordy Presnell enters Wednesday's matchup with 129 MW wins, the third-most in league history. With a win against the Spartans, he would tie Elaine Elliot (Utah, 1999-2010), who picked up 130 league victories. ÂÂ
