Blackson and Loyim Tie School Record on Floor as Broncos Defeat Two Teams in Boise

BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State gymnastics team earned a pair of wins in a quad meet, scoring 196.825 to defeat No. 16 Minnesota (196.425) and UC Davis (195.425). No. 26 Washington posted a 197.200 to win the meet.
 
Boise State put together its best rotation of the season on floor, recorded the fifth-highest score in program history at 49.525. Courtney Blackson and Emma Loyim both tied the school record of 9.950 for the second time this season.
 
The Broncos were the epitome of consistency in the first three rotations, posting a 49.100 in each event. Blackson paced Boise State on vault, tying for third at 9.875. In the second rotation, Emily Lopez scored 9.925 to win bars for the third-consecutive meet.. On beam, Adriana Popp also won for the third-straight meet, scoring 9.900.
 
Boise State is 13-4 this season and 8-1 when competing at ExtraMile Arena.

  • Adriana Popp earned her third-straight beam win, giving her a career total of 12 that is tied for third in program history.
  • Loyim has two floor wins this season and three in her career. She has three total victories this year and seven in her career.
  • Sydney Leitch posted a career-high 9.875 on floor.
  • Alyssa Vulaj scored a 9.875 on floor to tie her career-high.
  • Adriana Popp matched her season-best on vault with a 9.850.
  • The team score of 49.525 on floor is the best rotation score of the season and is the fifth-highest in school history. It is the highest floor total since the 2016 team posted a 49.575 at the MRGC Championships.
  • Boise State scored higher than a 49.000 on all four rotations for the first time this season.

Boise State travels to MW opponent San Jose State for a quad meet. The Broncos will also compete against nonconference foes Illinois State and Yale at 3 p.m. MT on Sunday, March 10.
