Broncos Head to Bay Area for Quad Meet

THE MEET:Â The Broncos will travel to San Jose, Calif., to face MW rival San Jose State, along with nonconference foes Illinois State and Yale. The quad meet will begin at 3 p.m. MT on Sunday, March 10.
LAST TIME OUT:Â The Broncos placed second in a quad meet after scoring a 196.825 to defeat No. 16 Minnesota and UC Davis. The Blue and Orange fell to No. 26 Washington. Boise State put together its best rotation of the season on floor, recording the fifth-highest score in program history at 49.525. Â Emma Loyim and Courtney Blackson matched the program record on floor with a 9.950, tying for first. Emily Lopez won on bars for the third week in a row, scoring a 9.925, while Adriana Popp earned her third-straight win on beam with a score of 9.9.00.
BRONCO QUARTET EARNS MW WEEKLY AWARDS:Â Senior Courtney Blackson was tabbed the Co-Floor Specialist of the Week after scoring a 9.950, tying the school record. Senior Emily Lopez collected the Bars Specialist of the Week for the sixth time this season, tying for first with a 9.925. Junior Emma Loyim was named the Co-Floor Specialist of the Week after matching the school record. Senior Adriana Popp earned Co-Beam Specialist of the Week after winning the event with a score of 9.900.
ABOUT THE OPPONENTS:Â Illinois State comes into the meet with a 195.750 NQS and a 12-7 overall record. San Jose State sits at 31st in the national standings, with an NQS of 196.335. Yale comes into the meet off a second-place finish over New Haven and Southern Connecticut State, falling to Maryland, after scoring a 195.025.
BRONCOS IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS:Â Boise State sits at 24th, nationally, on floor with an NQS of 49.310. Individually, Emily Lopez is tied for 12th, nationally, on bars with an NQS of 9.930.
