Broncos Crush Aggies for First Conference Win of the Season

The Broncos (21-13, 1-2 MW) scored multiple runs in each of the first four innings to avoid a series sweep against the Aggies (19-12, 3-3).

"I am really proud of our response today," head coach Justin Shults said. "Our offense was locked in early and Taylor (Caudill) was solid in the circle."

Sydney Groves staked the Broncos to an early lead with a two-run home run, her MW-leading 13th of the season, in the first inning.

In the second, Hollie Farmer and Ashlyn Whalen opened the inning with back-to-back singles. Abby Bumcrot drove in a run with a double and Alycia Flores came off the bench to deliver a two-run triple for a 5-1 lead.

Sophia Knight drove in a run with a single, stole second and came home on an RBI-single by Jordyn Hutchins for a 7-1 advantage.

In the third, Bumcrot recorded a sacrifice fly for an 8-1 lead. Keely Goushá followed with an RBI-double and scored on an error to make the score 10-1.

Boise State added three more runs in the fourth on an RBI-double by Mykenzie Hanna, a run-scoring single from Farmer and an RBI-ground out by Goushá.

Taylor Caudill (11-7) went the distance for Boise State for her ninth complete game of the season.
