
Ackermann Named Mountain West Freshman of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State distance runner Hanna Ackermann was named Mountain West Track & Field Women's Freshman of the Week, the conference announced, Tuesday. This is her first career Mountain West weekly honor.

Ackermann's honor follows her gold-medal finish in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Beach Invitational in Long Beach, Calif., April 12. She ran a personal-best time of 10:25.09, finishing 12 seconds ahead of the next closest finisher.

The freshman's time in the steeplechase makes her the ninth-fastest freshman in the nation and second-fastest freshman in the conference. Among all classes, Ackermann ranks 42nd in the nation and seventh in the conference.

The German national also ran a personal-best of 4:34.48 in the women's 1,500-meter at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif., April 13.

Next, the Broncos will travel to California for a split-meet weekend, April 26-27. The team will be divided between the Fresno State Invitational in Fresno, Calif., and the Steve Scott Invitational in Irvine, Calif.
