Bullington and Land Receive Southland Pair of the Week Honors

FRISCO, Texas - Boise State's Marlayna Bullington and Sierra Land have been named the Southland Conference Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week for the week of April 8-15, as announced by the league Thursday morning.

This marks the third time this season that the Boise State pair has earned the award and the fourth time the program has received this recognition. In addition, it is Land's fifth career SLC Pair of the Week accolade.

Bullington and Land concluded the regular season last week by going 5-2 in two competitions playing as the Broncos' No. 1 pair.

During Wednesday's (April 10) home tri-dual, the duo opened the week with a pair of straight-set wins over the top teams from Saint Mary's and No. 17 Arizona.
Over the weekend, the tandem went 3-2 at the Alki Beach Invitational in Seattle to close the regular season.

After falling to the top pair from No. 15 Georgia State, the two revenged the loss by defeating the GSU duo in a rematch. In addition, Bullington and Land also added two wins against Oregon in Seattle.

Last week, Bullington and Land set the school record for most career wins by a pair in program history, finishing with 28 victories.

Earlier this week, they were named the SLC Pair of the Year and first-team All-SLC as the No. 1 pair. Bullington was named SLC Newcomer of the Year.

This week Bullington and Land will join their teammates in Houston, Texas, to battle for the SLC Tournament Championship (April 19-21) and the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Championship.
