SAN DIEGO – Boise State dropped the opener of a two-game Mountain West softball series 3-2 at San Diego State, Saturday.

The Broncos (24-16, 4-5 MW) spotted the Aztecs (23-13, 10-2) two runs in the first inning and did not get a runner into scoring position through three innings.
Â
In the fourth, Mykenzie Hanna reached on an error with one out and Alycia Flores followed with a two-strike double to put runners at second and third.
Â
Hollie Farmer then ripped a two-run double to left that scored both runners and tied the game 2-2.
Â
San Diego State manufactured the winning run in the fifth on a bunt single, stolen base and pair of fly outs.

Taylor Caudill (13-9) went the distance for the Broncos, struck out seven and walked one.
