WHAT'S NEXT
Boise State beach volleyball will compete in its final home duals on Wednesday, April 10, with a pair of contests against Saint Mary's and No. 17 Arizona. The Broncos (24-8) will open the tri-dual at 11 a.m. against Saint Mary's, before ending the event with a showdown with the Wildcats at 3 p.m. All competitions will take place at the Boise State Beach Volleyball Complex and will be streamed on the MW Network.Â
WHAT'S AT STAKE
The Broncos enter Wednesday's competition on an eight-dual winning streak, tied for the longest in program history. With 24 wins, the team also has a chance to break last year's program record of 25 wins in a single season. A win over the Wildcats would also mark the squad's second victory over a ranked opponent this season and would be the first victory over Arizona in program history.Â
SCOUTING THE GAELS
The meeting with Saint Mary's will be the third matchup of the season between the two squads. The Broncos fell to the Gaels (12-12) in the opening matchup of the Queen's Cup on March 7, before getting revenge two days later with a 3-2 victory. Saint Mary's has gone 6-7 since then, notching wins over San Francisco, Pacific and Santa Clara. The Gaels most recently lost to SLC foe San Jose State, 3-2, on April 3.ÂÂ
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
Boise State will also take on No. 17 Arizona for the third time this season. The Broncos fell to the Wildcats (16-7) twice this season, with the last matchup occurring on March 1 in Malibu, Calif. Â Arizona is coming off a 1-3 showing at the Pac-12 North Invitational, with all three losses occurring to Top 10 teams.Â
LAST TIME OUT
The Broncos pulled off a pair of sweeps at the College of Idaho Classic on Tuesday, April 2. Boise State defeated College of Southern Idaho 5-0 in an exhibition contest to start the day before defeating the Yotes 5-0. The tri-dual marked the first time all three beach volleyball programs in the state of Idaho competed against each other.DOMINANT DUOS
Two Bronco pairs enter Wednesday's contest on double-digit winning streaks. Addison Wolden and Abbie Wolf have won 11-straight games while Ava Anderson and Emilia Guerra-Acuña have won 10 consecutive matches, all at the No. 2 position. ÂÂ
PARKING
Admission and parking to the tri-dual is free. Spectators should park at Lincoln Garage, enter their license plate number into the payment machine, select purchase ticket and then select beach volleyball.Players Mentioned
