Six Broncos Qualified for NCAA West Preliminary Rounds

BOISE, Idaho – Six Boise State track and field athletes qualified for the 2024 Division 1 Outdoor Track & Field Championships West Preliminary Rounds, the NCAA announced Thursday.
 
Hanna Ackermann and Emily Jobes both qualified in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase, while Austen Apperson qualified for the same event on the men's side. Tom Graham-Marr earned a spot in the men's 5,000-meter, plus Ines Borba and Brian Kiprotich also qualified for the women's and men's 10,000-meter, respectively.
 
The meet will take place at John McDonnell Field in Fayetteville, Ark., May 22-25. All events will be streamed live on ESPN+.
 
The semifinals of the men's 10,000m will be the first event for the Broncos, starting Wednesday May 22 at 7:10 p.m. The semifinals for the women's 10,000m will be at the same time but on Thursday, May 22.
 
The quarterfinals of the men's 3,000m steeplechase will be Friday, May 24 at 4:40 p.m. The semifinals of the men's 5,000m will take place at 7:10 p.m., later that night. The women's steeplechase will compete at the same time as the men's steeplechase on Saturday, May 25.
 
The top 12 competitors from each individual event advance from each first round. The list of qualifiers from each event contested in the first rounds will be announced by 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 26. The final list of the championships competition participants will be announced by 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28.
