Former All-American Joins Boise State Softball Staff

BOISE, Idaho – Terra McGowan has joined Boise State softball as an assistant coach, head coach Justin Shults announced, Tuesday.
 
McGowan spent the 2024 season as Oregon's director of player development and analytics after a decorated career with the Ducks.
 
A native of Mission Viejo, Calif., McGowan capped her career in Eugene earning 2023 NFCA First-Team All-America honors at catcher and being named Diamond Sports National Catcher of the Year.
 
She was a three-time NFCA Pacific Region honoree, including a first-team selection as a senior. She was named All-Pac-12 three times, including first team as a junior and senior, the same two years she earned a spot on the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team.
 
"Terra brings a tremendous amount of knowledge of the game to our staff," Shults said. "Her experience behind the plate and her ability to relate to our student-athletes will be a valuable asset to our program."
 
Shults, an Oregon assistant (2019-21) recruited McGowan during his stint with the Ducks. McGowan will work with the Bronco catchers and assist with hitting.
 
In three years under Shults, the Broncos won a school-record 40 games in 2022, captured the Mountain West regular season title in 2023 and reached the final of the MW Championship in 2024.
