BOISE, Idaho – Boise State standouts Ashton Jeanty and James Ferguson-Reynolds continue to garner national recognition, with the junior duo earning second team preseason All-America honors from the Associated Press.
Jeanty's recognition marks his 10th preseason All-America selection. Three outlets tabbed him first team and seven featured him on their second team. The running back was voted Mountain West Preseason Offensive Player of the Year and earned first team preseason All-MW from five groups. He was the only running back named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list and earned spots on the watch lists for the Doak Walker, Maxwell and Walter Camp awards. In 2023, he collected six All-America honors and was named MW Offensive Player of the Year.
Last season, Jeanty was one of the most dynamic players in the country, tallying an FBS-high 159.67 yards from scrimmage per game. He also topped the national rankings in first downs (96) and missed tackles forced (106) while leading all running backs in receiving yards (569) and yards after catch (621). The Heisman candidate scored 19 touchdowns, ranking fifth in the country despite missing two games.
Ferguson-Reynolds has been named preseason All-America by six outlets, with this marking his third appearance on a group's second team. Like Jeanty, he was a five-time Preseason All-MW selection. The punter was named to the Ray Guy Award watch list. Last year, he secured four All-America honors and was featured on the All-MW first team.
The Punter From Down Under led the nation in punting in 2023, averaging 49.7 yards per punt. This mark set a program record while ranking third in MW history and sixth in NCAA history. He averaged 50+ yards per punt in 10 games, including four where he punted five or more times. He routinely flipped the field for the Broncos, launching 29 punts at least 50 yards. Five traveled over 60 yards, including a pair that went 70+ yards.

Led by Spencer Danielson in his first full season, Boise State looks to become the first Mountain West program to win back-to-back championships since San Diego State did so in 2015-16. Achieving such a feat will put Boise State in the discussion for the new, expanded, 12-team College Football Playoff format beginning this fall. Last year, Danielson became the first coach in college football history to win a conference championship with an interim title.
