Boise State Cross Country and Track and Field Welcome 22 Incomers

BOISE, Idaho - The Bronco cross country and track and field teams have added 22 new student-athletes for the upcoming season.
 
The women's team will bring on 14 athletes, including four distance runners who will compete in cross country. The men's team will welcome eight new student-athletes, with two of those set to run cross country.
 
"We are stoked about this first recruiting class in this new era of Bronco track and field," said head coach Pat McCurry. "This group includes quality student athletes across every event area. I'm particularly happy with coach Andy Green's late recruiting over the summer, as he really bolstered the sprints groups. coach Kelsey Betthauser did a fabulous job getting Calvin Bostic here as a graduate transfer that can make an immediate impact in the throws, and we have a great foundation set in the women's jumps for coach Mark Badowsky to get to work with."
 
MEN
 
Braylon Baggett (Elko, Nev. | Elko High School)
4,000m – 13:12.0 / 3mi – 16:05.5 / 5000m – 15:50.9
Baggett will represent the Blue & Orange after a successful career at Elko High School in Elko, Nev. Baggett competed in seven events between the indoor and outdoor 2023 NIAA 3A track and field state championships. He earned state titles in the indoor 4x800m as well as the outdoor 3200-meter. On the cross country front, Baggett was the state-runner up his senior year in the 5000-meter race.
 
Calvin Bostic (Citra, Fla. | University of Florida)
SP – 59' 1.5" / DT – 182' 2"
Bostic joins Boise State as a transfer from the University of Florida, where he competed as a thrower. During the 2024 outdoor season, he qualified for the NCAA East Preliminaries in the discus throw. His top-finish came at the McFerrin-12 Degree Invitational, where he secured a fifth-place finish in the men's shot put with a mark of 51' 9.75".
 
Garrett Chaffee (Newberg, Ore. | Southern Oregon)
100m – 11.31 / 200m – 22.26 / 400m – 48.70
Garrett Chaffee is a sprinter transferring from Southern Oregon. In his one season with the Raiders, Chaffee most notably posted second-place finishes in the 200-meter at the 2024 Raider Invitational, as well as second-place finishes in the 4x100m and 4x400m at the Humboldt Invitational.
 
Angus Fitzgerald (Thousands Oaks, Calif. | Royal High School)
800m – 1:49.18 / 1500m – 3:48.62 / 1mi – 4:07.35
Fitzgerald is set to return to the Broncos after competing from 2021-23. In his two seasons of competition, Fitzgerald ran the 800-meter at the 2022 NCAA West Preliminary Round, and was named All-Mountain West Indoor for the distance medley relay in 2022. He was also a four-time Academic All-MW recipient and a USTFCCCA All-Academic athlete in 2022.
 
Joshua Green (Ephrata, Wash. | Central Washington)
60m – 7.06 / 100m – 10.63 / 200m – 21.13 / 400m – 48.38
Green is originally from Ephrata, Wash., and is transferring to Boise State after one year at Central Washington. In his lone season at CWU, Green captured GNAC outdoor track and field titles in the 200m and 4x100m.
 
Alex Kilby (Cobham, England | Walton AC)
3000m – 8:28.44 / 5000m – 15:02.28 / 10,000m – 31:32.75
Kilby joins the Broncos from Cobham, England. He ran two of his personal best times in 2024, posting a PB in the 5000m on May 6, and a PB in the 10,000-meter on May 18.
 
DJ Warren (Meridian, Idaho | Mountain View HS)
100m – 11.48 / 200m – 22.15 / 400m – 48.43
Warren comes to Boise after competing at Mountain View High School in Meridian, Idaho. In 2023, Warren came runner up in the Idaho 4A-5A Track and Field State Championships in the 4x100m and 4x200m. He also picked up a third place finish in the 400-meter.
 
Dalton Wild (Post Falls, Idaho | Eastern Washington)
60m – 6.92 / 100m – 10.83 / 200m – 21.99 / 400m – 49.99
Wild, an Idaho native, comes to Boise State as a transfer from Eastern Washington. With the Eagles, Wild finished first at the 18th Sam Adams Classic in the 4x400m, and also earned a second-place finish at the 3rd Whitworth Indoor Invitational in the 60-meter.
 
WOMEN
 
Haley Blaine (Albany, Ore. | West Albany HS)
1500m – 4:35.11 / 3000m – 10:04.18 / 1 Mile – 4:59.06 / 3200m – 10:44.12
Blaine joins the Broncos from Albany, Ore., where she was a state champion in the 1500-meter as a sophomore and state runner-up in the 3000-meter her senior year. Blaine has competed twice in the Nike Outdoor Nationals meet, including a ninth-place finish in 2024. She also holds the West Albany High School records in the 1500-meter and 3000m.
 
Brooklynn Bright (Murrieta, Cal. | Murrieta Mesa HS)
100m – 12.61 / 200m – 25.24 / 300m – 41.74 / 400m – 56.74
Bright, a standout from Murrieta Mesa High School in Murrieta, Calif., competed in the 2023 Nike Outdoor Nationals in the 400m. She capped off her 2023 outdoor season by setting personal records in both the 200m and 400m during a conference finals meet.
 
Stella Diaz (Missoula, Mont. | Hellgate HS)
800m – 2:23.74 / 1600m – 5:16.95 / 1mi – 5:29.59 / 3000m – 10:49.08 / 3200m –11:25.94
Diaz comes to Boise State from Hellgate High School in Missoula, Mont. In 2023, she helped lead her cross country team to a state championship finishing sixth individually, and was a three-time Montana all-state cross country runner.
 
Tatum Erlandson (Meridian, Idaho | Rocky Mountain HS)
100m – 12.66 / 200m – 26.02 / 400m – 1:03.17 / LJ – 18' 0"
Erlandson spent her high school career competing in Meridian, Idaho, at Rocky Mountain High School. Erlandson finished runner-up in the long jump at the Idaho 5A Track and Field State Championships in 2024. She also earned Idaho Statesman's track athlete of the week during April 22-28 by winning the long jump at the Bandanna Invite.
 
Christina Graumann (Magdeburg, Germany)
60m – 7.87 / 100m – 12.22
Graumann makes the journey from Germany to join the Broncos. The incoming freshman recently posted her personal best 100-meter time at the Nationales Leichtathletik-Meeting Hannover on May 25.
 
Vai Green (Kentwood, Wash. | Northwest Nazarene)
60m – 8.08 / 60H – 9.25 / 100H – 15.64 / 200m – 26.88 / LJ – 17'7.5" / TJ – 37'7.75"
Green joins the Broncos as a transfer from Northwest Nazarene University. With the Nighthawks, Green competed as a sprinter and jumper. At the 2024 GNAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, her 11.78m triple jump set the fifth longest distance in NNU history. During the 2023-24 season, Green held the team's fastest 100m hurdles time and longest triple and long jump.
 
Kinlee McLean (Post Falls, Idaho | Post Falls HS)
100m – 13.34 / 200m – 25.63 / 400m – 57.51 / 800m – 2:41.15
McLean comes to Boise by way of Post Falls High School in Post Falls, Idaho. During her 2024 outdoor season, McLean picked up 27 wins across six different events. She competed at the Idaho State Track and Field Championships in four events during both the indoor season and outdoor season. This included a second-place finish in the indoor 4x400m relay.
 
Alix Mund (Missoula, Mont. | Hellgate HS)
LJ – 17'6.5" / TJ – 37' 3.5"
Alix Mund joins the Blue and Orange from Hellgate High School in Missoula, Mont. In the state of Montana, her long jump and triple jump rank 10th and seventh, respectively. She finished fourth in the triple jump at the Montana state track and field meet, and also picked up four wins between the LJ and TJ as a senior.
 
Lizbeth Soto (Caldwell, Idaho | Spokane Community College)
100m – 12.86 / 200m – 25.88 / 400m – 58.72 / LJ – 16' 10.5"
A Caldwell, Idaho, native and Vallivue High School graduate, Soto joins Boise State as a transfer from Spokane Community College. While running for the Sasquatch, Soto competed twice in the NWAC Track and Field Championships, finishing fourth in the 200m as a freshman, and second in the 400m as a sophomore. She helped Spokane win their first NWAC track and field title since 2018 in 2024, and also played forward on the soccer team, winning another NWAC championship in 2022.
 
Damaris Stuffle (Boise, Idaho | Capital High School)
100H – 15.45 / 300H – 46.16 / LJ – 17' 9.5"
Stuffle joins the Broncos after spending three years at Lewiston High School and one year at Capital High School. As a senior, Stuffle competed in the Idaho 4A-5A state track and field meet in the 300-meter hurdles, 4x400m, and the long jump. Her 300m hurdle time was the 12th fastest in Idaho in 2024.
 
Elle Thomas (Washougal, Wash. | Washougal HS)
1600m – 5:06.00 / 3200m – 11:12.00 / 4000m – 15:51.0 / 5000m – 18:19.9
A three-time Washington all-state cross country runner, Thomas comes to Boise from Washougal High School in Washougal, Wash. She was a three-time all-league runner in the 3200m, a two-time all-league runner in the 1600-meter, and a two-time all-league cross country outstanding runner of the year.
 
Love Uzoekwe (Portland, Ore. | Westview HS)
100m – 12.07 / 100m Relay Split – 11.12 / 200m – 26.31 / LJ – 17' 6.25" / TJ – 37' 8.5"
Uzoekwe comes to Boise State from Westview High School in Portland, Ore. Uzoekwe was the 2024 Oregon state runner-up in the 100m and finished third in triple jump. She also competed at the 2024 Nike Outdoor Nationals competition in the triple jump, 4x100m, and 100m race.
 
Jamie Wade (Mountain View, Calif. | St. Francis HS)
100m – 13.94 / HJ – 5'5" / LJ – 16'1"
Wade joins the Broncos from St. Francis High School in Mountain View, Calif. In the 2024 outdoor season, Wade picked up wins in the high jump at seven different meets. She also finished first in one meet in the long jump, and never finished outside the top-six in that event as a senior.
 
Alison Whalen (Tacoma, Wash. | Bellarmine Prep)
800m -- 2:19.27 / 1500m – 4:45.26 / 3200m – 10:53.96 / 5000m – 17:57.9
Whalen joins the Blue and Orange after graduating from Bellarmine Prep in Tacoma, Wash. She placed third at the 2023 Washington State 4A Cross country meet, and ran a 5K personal best at the 2023 Nike Cross Regionals where she finished 11th. Whalen was a three-time nominee for the Tacoma Athletic Commission athlete of the year while running for Bellarmine Prep.
