COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Genevieve Crenshaw, Carly Cross and Morgan Padour were named to the 2024 Mountain West Women's Soccer Watch List; the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.
Â
Boise State was also picked to finish third in the league's preseason poll.
Â
"I'm super happy for our three Broncos on the watch list," head coach Jim Thomas said. "They've earned it and will no doubt fulfill the preseason predictions. These three and their teammates are primed and ready to write their own story. I simply can't wait to see the work they've put in come to fruition."
Â
Crenshaw, a 2023 MW All-Tournament Team selection, was one of two goalkeepers on the watch list with 36 total athletes. The fifth-year earned five shutouts in 2023, propelling her to the top of the program career leaderboard with 20. She also recorded 94 saves on the season, ranking her third in the MW and 31st in the NCAA.
Â
Forward Cross was the sixth Bronco in program history to achieve a hat trick, doing so in just 41:53 against Eastern Washington in 2023. That performance marked the second most goals in a match in the MW and 12th in the NCAA in 2023. She earned All-MW Second Team honors last season with nine goals and five assists.
Â
Padour was also an All-MW Second Team selection in 2023, tallying one goal and six assists as a midfielder. She averaged 0.29 assists per match to place fifth in the MW. The fifth-year recorded a match-winning assist in a 2-1 victory against Fresno State last season to clinch Boise State's conference tournament spot.
Â
In the conference preseason poll, Boise State was picked to finish third with 99 points, tied with Colorado State. San Diego State was selected to win the conference, receiving eight of 12 first-place votes and 117 points. Utah State came in second with 107 points, including two first-place votes. Colorado State received the final two first-place votes.
Â
New Mexico was slated fifth with 76 points, while Nevada gathered 56 points for a sixth-place projection. Fresno State and UNLV notched 55 points to both finish seventh. Air Force (37 points), San Jose State (34 points), Wyoming (32 points) and Colorado College (25 points) rounded out the conference.
Â
Boise State will begin its season on Friday, August 16, against Portland State. The match will be held at the Boas Soccer Complex and will begin at 7 p.m. MT.
