BOISE, Idaho – Boise State volleyball claimed its fifth sweep of the season with a 25-20, 25-22, 25-18 victory over CSU Bakersfield Friday in the home opener. The Blue and Orange improved to 5-2 with the win on the opening day of the Boise State Classic in Bronco Gym.

The Broncos opened the Boise State Classic with a solid performance, leading for most of the match against the Roadrunners. The Blue and Orange outhit CSUB .212 to .153 and dominated the net, recording a season-high 10 blocks to CSUB's three.

Tied at 16 in the first set, Boise State used a 6-2 run to take the lead for good and eventually won it by five points 25-20.

Boise State rallied midway through the second period, trailing 13-12, the Broncos used a 5-1 run to take the lead for good and claimed the set by a narrow three-point margin, 25-22.

After trailing 2-0 early in the third, Boise State kicked it in gear and used a 6-1 run to surge past the Roadrunners for good and never trailed again. The Broncos led by as many as seven late, including at the end, in a 25-18 win, with Paige Bartsch clinching the match on a slam off the block.

Paige Bartsch led, hitting .321 for nine kills, with three service aces and three blocks, team highs for kills and aces.
Anabel Kotzakov matched Bartsch's kill total of nine to go with two aces, seven digs and one block.
Annie Kaminski hit a team-best .462 and added seven kills and four blocks.
Layla Smith had a team-high five blocks to match her career high.
