QUOTABLES

Shawn Garus, Head Coach

  • "We definitely couldn't key on any one thing tonight because I don't think we were sharp with our passing to give the setters all the options. But I thought we had production from everybody at some point. When you win without playing your best, sometimes you just have to be really excited about that."
  • "I think this was valuable for the freshmen to experience the loud chaos our gym can be, especially during broken plays. They'll just get better from here, and I think if we can pass a little bit better, they'll start showcasing their offensive skills."

Paige Bartsch, Senior Outside Hitter

  • "The freshmen have been amazing. Coming in as a freshman is a big change, both mentally and physically, and they've made that transition seamless. They don't dwell on their mistakes like I think a lot of freshmen might; they really bring a lot of energy and a lot of talk. They don't play like freshmen."
  •  "There's a huge difference when you play at home. The crowd is so much louder, and it feels like it's all on you. So, playing at home is what I've been waiting for. We've been away for a little too long, so this game was a great way to start our home season."

WHAT'S NEXT

The Broncos will continue play at the Boise State Classic on Saturday at 1 p.m. against instate-rival Idaho State in Bronco Gym.
