BOISE, Idaho – Boise State's volleyball team battled hard against Idaho State Saturday afternoon but came up on the short end of a 3-1 score as the Bengals won 25-13, 22-25, 25-15, 25-22 on the second day of the Boise State Classic in Bronco Gym.

The Broncos opened the contest slow as Idaho State stormed out to a 25-13 victory in the first set. The Blue and Orange hit .051 to ISU's .385 in the period.

Boise State regrouped to take the second behind eight kills by Paige Bartsch. Trailing 8-6, the Broncos used a 5-1 run to take the lead; they never trailed again before taking it 25-22 over the Bengals.

Set three went to Idaho State, who led by as many as 10 points during the period as the Broncos struggled.

Boise State went out to a five-point lead early in the fourth, only to see Idaho State rally back to take a lead of 19-18. The Bengals went on to take the set by three at 25-22 to clinch the match.

TOP BRONCOS

Annie Kaminski hit .407 for 14 kills to tie for the team lead and added three blocks to finish with 15.5 points.
Paige Bartsch tied Kaminski for the team-high in kills with 14 to go with 10 digs for her second double-double of the year. She also had one service ace and two blocks to finish with a team-high 16 points.
Kiki Remensperger recorded her third double-double of the year on career highs for assists with 36 and digs with 15.

NOTABLES

Paige Bartsch had one service ace to move into a tie for third place for career service aces during the rally-scoring era (since 2001) with 103, tying Lauren Hamm (2007-10).
Four Broncos reached double-digits in digs, led by Remensperger's 15, followed by Breanna Mitchell with 14, Anabel Kotzakov with 13, and Bartsch with 10.
