Lopez Earns Bars Title in Quad Meet at Washington

SEATTLE – Boise State gymnastics opened the 2025 season finishing second at a quad meet at Washington on Friday. The Broncos (195.050) earned victories over Washington (194.800) and No. 29 UC Davis (193.375), but fell to Stanford (195.600).
 
Fifth year Emily Lopez won the bars title with a 9.850, marking the sole event title the Broncos earned.
 
Boise State took an early lead after the first rotation as Lopez led the way with a 9.850 on beam. The Broncos recorded a team score of 48.900 with the next closest being Stanford with a 48.775 after bars.
 
The Blue and Orange continued its lead after floor, scoring a 48.950 on the apparatus. Senior Emma Loyim ended the second rotation with a team-high score of 9.875.
 
The Broncos posted a 48.550 on vault, but Stanford took the lead at the conclusion of the third rotation. The team put up a 48.650 in the final rotation, where Lopez performed the last bars routine of the night and scored another 9.850, the highest of the meet.
