BOISE, Idaho – Boise State gymnastics earned a first-place victory in ExtraMile Arena, putting up season-bests in multiple events. The Broncos (195.925) topped Utah State (195.850) and Sacramento State (194.600) with a season-high team score.

In the first rotation, Boise State notched a season-high on vault, scoring 48.950. The squad was led by senior Alyssa Vulaj, who scored a 9.850.

The Broncos followed with a season-high 49.150 on bars, with all six gymnasts scoring 9.800 or better. Mahleea Werline was the team leader, recording a career-high 9.875.

The Blue and Orange continued posting season-best scores in the third rotation, tallying a 48.975 on beam. Emily Lopez led the Broncos with a 9.850.

Boise State entered the final rotation trailing the Aggies, 147.375-147.075. The team put up a 48.850 on floor, propelling the team into first place. Emma Loyim posted a team-high score of 9.875, which earned her a share of the event title.

Top Broncos

Alyssa Vulaj took home first on vault with a 9.850, marking her third victory of the season and seventh of her career.
Emma Loyim earned the floor co-championship title with a 9.875, first of the season and fifth of her career.
Emily Lopez placed second on vault with a score of 9.800. She also tied for second place on beam, scoring a 9.850.
Loyim and Noelle Ball tied for third on vault, both notching a 9.775.
Blake Pascal scored a 9.825 on floor, tying for third place.

Notables

The Broncos recorded team season-highs on vault (48.950), bars (49.150) and beam (48.925). The squad also achieved a season-high overall score of 195.925.
All six Broncos scored 9.800 or higher on bars. This is the first time Boise State's entire bars lineup has scored 9.800 or above since March 31, 2022, when it achieved the feat in the second round of NCAA Regionals.
This marked the highest home-opener score since 2021 where the Broncos took home the victory with a score of 196.325.
Boise State defeated Utah State for the eighth-straight meet, bringing the all-time series record to 59-58-1.
The Broncos continue their 18-meet win streak over the Hornets, keeping head coach Tina Bird perfect over Sacramento State (18-0).
Noelle Ball notched the highest vault score among all freshmen.
Ball and Bridget Kemp matched their vault career-highs with a 9.775 and 9.750, respectively.
Mahleea Werline matched her career-high on bars with a score of 9.875.

The Broncos will travel to USAFA, Colo., for a meet against Air Force and Greenville on Sunday, Feb. 9. The meet is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. MT and will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network.
