BOISE, Idaho – Boise State beach volleyball announced the addition of Serena van der Made to its 2025-26 roster on Tuesday.

A 5'6 defender, van der Made hails from The Hague University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands. She will join the team in the spring semester and be eligible for the 2026 spring season.
"We are extremely excited to have Serena join our program," head coach Alex Venardos said. "She will add a lot of depth to the defender position and will bring a high level of competition and experience that is really going to benefit our team."

Van der Made competed for Irene Beach in the Netherlands, winning a handful honors during her three seasons with the club team. She was named the SportIF Player of the Year in July of 2023 and recently received the club's Fighter of the Year award. She and her partner were also named the Best Performing Duo of the Dutch National Eredivisie Tour in August.

Over her three-year beach career, van der Made has finished in the top three in 20 tournaments, including six gold medals, six silver medals and eight bronzes. Van der Made has won three events as part of the Dutch National Eredivisie Tour, including in Almelo, Amstelveen, Arnhem, Nijmegen and Zaandam. She also won the Belgium/Netherlands Queen of the Court Championship in Leuven in July.

Van der Made plans to study civil engineering at Boise State.
