Broncos Narrowly Fall to USC

LAHAINA, Hawaii — Boise State had its four-game winning streak snapped on Monday, falling 70-67 to USC in the opening round of the Southwest Maui Invitational.

The Broncos (4-2) were led by Javan Buchanan, who scored a team-high 18 points. He made six field goals and added six rebounds in 33 minutes.

Pearson Carmichael recorded a season-high 14 points and tied his career high with seven boards. Aginaldo Nets tallied his second double-digit scoring effort of the season, posting 10 points in a reserve role.

USC (5-0) was led by Rodney Rice who poured in a game-high 27 points on 11-for-21 shooting. Chad Baker-Mazara pitched in with 11 points, eight rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.
