Boise State Places Eight on All-Mountain West Teams

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State placed eight football players on the 2025 All-Mountain West teams, the conference announced. Offensive linemen Kage Casey and Mason Randolph were named to the first team, as were safety Ty Benefield and corner A'Marion McCoy. Running back Dylan Riley, defensive lineman Braxton Fely, EDGE Jayden Virgin-Morgan and cornerback Jeremiah Earby were recognized on the second team. Offensive lineman Roger Carreon, punter Oscar Doyle and tight end Matt Lauter garnered honorable mention.
Casey has started all 12 games at left tackle, earning a Pro Football Focus grade of 79.3 that ranks second-nationally among his position group. He has played a team-high 872 offensive snaps, blocking for a unit that ranks second in the conference with 430.4 yards per game. Boise State has five 500-yard games this season, eclipsing 250 yards in both rushing and passing in four of those contests. The redshirt junior has been named All-MW every season he has been a starter, collecting first team honors in 2024 and second team honors in 2023.
Randolph has also made 12 starts, including eight at center, three at left guard and one at right guard. His PFF run blocking grade of 71.0 is fifth among MW offensive linemen and second among those who primarily play center. Boise State has recorded two of the top-10 single-game yards per carry marks in program history, averaging 9.10 yards per rush at Air Force and 8.91 yards per carry against UNLV. This is the first time the redshirt senior has been named All-MW.
Benefield leads the Broncos in tackles (92) while ranking second in TFLs (7.5) and third in interceptions (2). He is one of four players in the nation with 90+ tackles, 7+ TFLs, two interceptions and a forced fumble. He has been Boise State's leading tackler in nine games this year, including three games where he has posted 11 tackles. The unit ranks 11th in the country in passing defense, holding opponents to 167.1 yards per game. This is the first time the junior has been named to an All-MW team. Last season, he earned honorable mention.
McCoy started 10 games before suffering a season-ending injury, totaling four interceptions and two interception return touchdowns. He is one of four players in the country to intercept four passes and return two for touchdowns. Per PFF, he held opposing quarterbacks to a 50.0 completion percentage (14-for-28) when targeted. The Broncos tallied 21 takeaways, second-most in the MW and 15th-most in the FBS. This is the fifth year's first time being named to an All-MW team. In 2023, he was awarded honorable mention.
Riley ranks second in the MW with 1,016 rushing yards and third in the conference with 10 rushing touchdowns, leading the Broncos in both categories. He has 409 rushing yards in the fourth quarter, third-most in the nation. He ran for a career-high 201 yards against UNLV and tallied 255 scrimmage yards and five touchdowns at Air Force, earning MW Offensive Player of the Week after both performances. He averages 6.20 yards per carry, second-highest in the conference and 20th-best in the country. This is the sophomore's first All-MW honor.
Fely leads Boise State with 5.5 sacks and ranks third on the team with 6.5 TFLs. He has also blocked a kick and tallied a pair of quarterback hurries. Boise State's defense has held opponents under 250 yards on four occasions, tied for 12th in the country. The unit averages 5.8 TFLs per game, second-most in the conference, and 329.4 yards allowed per contest, third-fewest in the MW. This is the senior's second appearance on the All-MW second team, also earning a nod in 2024.
Virgin-Morgan has a team-high 9.0 TFLs and is tied for the conference lead with two forced fumbles. He has also recovered a fumble and leads the Broncos with nine quarterback hurries. He has at least one TFL in six games this season, posting a career-high 3.5 against New Mexico. He captains a Boise State defense that has limited opponents to 35 or fewer passing yards in 16 of the last 24 quarters this season. This is the redshirt junior's second-straight All-MW selection, securing first team honors last season.
Earby is tied for third in the MW and 16th in the nation with four interceptions. He has added 52 total tackles, eight pass breakups, 1.5 TFLs and a fumble recovery. He intercepted two passes at Nevada and another two against Colorado State, earning MW Defensive Player of the Week after each performance. He is one of seven players in the nation to have multiple games with two or more interceptions and one of two to also recover a fumble in one of those games. This is the senior's first All-MW selection.
Lauter has 30 receptions for 286 yards and one touchdown this season, appearing in 11 regular season games. He is up to 1,102 career receiving yards, third-most by a tight end in Boise State history. He has four receptions of 20 yards, helping Boise State become the only team in the country to record 11+ 20-yard plays in multiple games. The Broncos have done so against Eastern Washington, Air Force and UNLV. This is the redshirt senior's second conference recognition. He earned first team selection in 2024.
Carreon has played all 12 games at right guard, starting 11. His PFF run blocking grade of 67.0 ranks second among MW guards with over 350 run blocking snaps. The Broncos have rushed for five or more touchdowns on three occasions, doing so against Eastern Washington, Air Force and Colorado State. Boise State has 10 players with 10+ receptions, tied for the most in the MW, and seven with 20+ catches, tied for second. This is the first conference honor for the redshirt junior.
Doyle averages 43.9 yards per punt, placing 15 inside the 20-yard line. He has seven punts of at least 50 yards, including a season-long 59-yard boot against Eastern Washington. Of his 48 punts, only five have been touchbacks. He is also the only punter in the nation to complete multiple passes, throwing a 10-yard touchdown to Troy Grizzle against New Mexico and an 11-yard pass to Matt Wagner against UNLV. This is the junior's first MW honor.
Boise State will host UNLV for the 2025 Mountain West Championship on Friday, Dec. 5. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. at Albertsons Stadium and the game will air nationally on FOX. This will be the Broncos' ninth appearance in the MW Championship Game, with the previous two also coming against the Rebels. Boise State looks to become the first program in conference history to win three straight conference championship games.
