Sophia Knight Named Top 10 Outfielder

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State sophomore Sophia Knight garnered national recognition, Thursday.

The Bronco center fielder was ranked seventh in D1Softball's Power Outfielder Rankings. Knight leads the NCAA with 37 hits and 2.47 hits per game, ranks second nationally with a .617 batting average, and sits third with 24 runs and 1.60 runs per game.

A Freshman All-American last season, Knight was named Mountain West Preseason Player of the Year this season.

Batting leadoff in every game for the Broncos in 2025, she has been a table setter for a Boise State team that is off to a 12-3 start and receiving votes in this week's NFCA Top 25 poll.

The Huntington Beach, California native and her teammates are in San Antonio, Texas for the Birds Up Bash. The Broncos open the tournament against Big 12 member Houston, Friday at noon MT.
