MINNEAPOLIS – The Boise State women's tennis team dropped its second match of the season, losing to No. 52 Minnesota, 5-2.

Zdena Safarova and Maya Dutta earned a 6-3 victory at the top doubles position, but the Gophers edged out the doubles point to take an early 1-0 lead.

In singles, Dutta defeated Minnesota's Mia Liepert at the No. 2 position, putting the Broncos on the board. The Gophers won the following three singles matches to clinch the team victory. Freshman Paula Schaefer then secured Boise State's second point of the day, defeating Anlin Xie 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (8) at the No. 4 position.

Notables

Ryan Kershner and Lorelyz Marruffo are 7-1 in doubles, while Zdena Safarova and Maya Dutta are 5-1 on the season.
Dutta holds a 5-1 record in singles, and Schaefer moves to 8-1 this season.
