
Makenzie Butt Named Mountain Softball Freshman of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – For the third time this season, Makenzie Butt was named Mountain West Softball Freshman of the Week, the conference announced, Monday.

Butt batted .455 (5-for-11) during a three-game sweep at UNLV. She homered in each game, including a grand slam in the series finale.

In the opener, she tied a Boise State single-game record with four runs. She scored seven times in the series and drove in seven.

The Garden Grove, California native posted a .571 on-base percentage, 1.273 slugging percentage and 1.844 OPS.

Her 16 home runs this season lead all NCAA freshmen and are tied for third nationally.
