FRISCO, Texas – Boise State beach volleyball duo Allyson Alden and Sharli O'Neil were named the Southland Conference Pair of the Week, the league announced Tuesday morning.

The honor marks the first time that either Alden or O'Neil has taken home the weekly conference honor in their career. It is the eighth time the program has secured the award since joining the league in 2023.

The duo captures the award following a 4-1 performance from the No. 2 court during the Broncos' season-opening weekend. The pair won two matches over ranked opponents, defeating No. 11 Arizona State's Olivia McElroy and Anya Pemberton, 21-19, 21-17, on Friday before taking down No. 18 Grand Canyon's Adrianna Ferro and Innes Piret, 21-18, 13-21, 23-21, on Saturday.

Alden and O'Neil also defeated Oregon's Landree Coats and AJ Slowkowski in three sets to help the squad secure its first sweep of the season, and won a critical match against Arizona's Brooke Bluetreich and Kylee Fitzsimmons to help the Broncos claim a 3-2 victory.

O'Neil also reached an impressive milestone during the weekend, surpassing 50 career wins. The senior currently holds a 51-27 career record and has the sixth most victories in program history.

The Broncos will compete in the toughest weekend of competition of the season at the TCU Invitational. The two-day event will begin March 7 in Fort Worth, Texas, and will consist of duals against No. 4 TCU, No. 12 Florida Atlantic, No. 14 Texas and No. 7 Florida State.
