Boise State to Compete in Mountain West Championship

WHAT'S NEXT: The Boise State women's golf team will compete for a title at the 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Championship, April 15-17. The tournament will be played at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California. The Broncos will tee off at 8 a.m. MT on the first day. Tee times for the second and third round will be determined by team and individual scores.

THE FIELD: Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Nevada, New Mexico, San Diego State, San Jose State, UNLV, Wyoming

LAST TIME ON THE LINKS: Boise State finished 14th at the Chevron Silverado Showdown, carding a 910 (+46). Teal Matsueda led the way with a 220 (+4), tying for 25th. The sophomore fired a 70 (-2) in the opening round, her sixth under-par round of the season. She also has six top-25 finishes during the 2024-25 campaign, bringing her career total to 10.

MOUNTAIN WEST AWARD FOR MATSUEDA: On March 27, Teal Matsueda was Mountain West Women's Golfer of the Week for the first time in her career. The sophomore's 11th-place finish at the Silicon Valley Showcase marked her fifth top-25 finish of the season, a team-high. This is the second time Matsueda has been recognized by the conference. In 2024, she was tabbed MW Freshman of the Week.

PREVIOUS CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS: Last year, the Broncos shot an 895 (+31) at the Mountain West Championship, the program's third-best team score at a conference championship. Boise State fired a 296 (+8) in the final round, tying the fourth-lowest conference championship round in school history. In 2023, Hannah Lim set the program record for lowest round at a conference championship, tallying a 69 (-3) in the opening round. The team also set the program records for lowest 18-hole score (288, E) and lowest 54-hole score (884. +20).

FIRST TEE IDAHO PARTNERSHIP: On Nov. 26, 2024, Boise State Athletics and First Tee Idaho announced a community partnership. The partnership follows FTI's acquisition of Pierce Park Greens, a 27-acre par-three golf course located in Northwest Boise, now named First Tee – Idaho's Pierce Park Greens. Boise State men's and women's golfers will have full access to Pierce Park Greens as a home to practice and develop. FTI plans to improve the course and facilities in order to better serve the community and its young athletes with a commitment to keep Pierce Park Greens open to the public.
