BOISE, Idaho – Boise State's Makenzie Butt was named a Top 25 Freshman by the NFCA, Friday.

Butt is batting .380 with 20 home runs and 71 RBI. She is the 12th freshman in NCAA history to record at least 20 home runs and 70 RBI.

The Bronco first baseman leads the Mountain West in home runs, RBI, home runs per game (0.43) and RBI per game (1.54). Nationally, she is second in RBI and RBI per game, tied for sixth in home runs and eighth in home runs per game.

A native of Fountain Valley, California, Butt ranks in the top five among NCAA freshmen in runs (50), runs per game (1.09), slugging percentage (.866) and walks per game (0.76).
