
Mitchell Named to Preseason All-Mountain West Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Boise State's Bre Mitchell has been named to the 2025 Preseason All-Mountain West Team as announced by the league office on Wednesday. Mitchell is one of seven student-athletes recognized by the conference's head coaches.
This is the first time in Mitchell's career that she has received preseason honors from the conference.
In 2024, the then-junior libero recorded 435 digs to lead the team and rank fourth in the MW. She also led the team and ranked second in the league for service aces with 49. She averaged a team-best and second-ranked 3.99 digs, along with 0.45 service aces, to lead the conference and was ranked 40th nationally. In her career, Mitchell averages 1.13 assists, 0.40 service aces, and 3.89 digs per set.
Boise State opens the season with a doubleheader on Aug. 29 in Orem, Utah, against Navy and Montana. The Blue and Orange open the home slate the following weekend when the Broncos host the Boise State Classic featuring Arizona, Oregon State, and UC San Diego.
In addition to the preseason team being announced, the conference also released the MW Preseason Coaches Poll. The Broncos were picked fifth out of 12 teams in the 2025 league race.
