Boise State Picks Up Fourth-Straight Win

LOGAN, Utah – Boise State defeated Utah State 76-60, Saturday night.

The Broncos (14-5, 5-3 Mountain West) earned their fourth-consecutive win and second-straight road victory.

The game's first field goal came at the 8:18 mark when Karyn Sanford finished a layup to give the Aggies (6-11, 2-6) an early lead. Sanford added a jumper on the next possession before Boise State recorded its first basket three minutes into the quarter.

The Broncos then went on a 7-0 run capped by a Natalie Pasco 3-pointer at the 5:14 mark. The opening quarter closed with three consecutive triples, two from Utah State's Elise Livingston and one from freshman Keirra Thompson, giving Boise State a 22-15 advantage after one.

Libby Hutton opened the second quarter with a jumper, but Livingston answered with another 3-pointer. Dani Bayes followed with a triple of her own not too long after. The Aggies went nearly four minutes without a field goal before Macie Brown broke the drought with a layup.

Freshman Kenna Garza scored her first points of the night with a 3-pointer to snap Boise State's nearly three-minute scoring drought, but Sanford quickly responded with a triple. Another Bronco scoring drought ended with a Mya Hansen jumper and Livingston closed the half with a jumper as time expired, sending Boise State into the break with a 38-30 lead.

The teams combined to make 11 3-pointers in the first half. Hansen and Tatum Thompson led Boise State with eight and seven points, respectively, while Livingston and Sanford paced Utah State with 13 and seven.

Hutton answered with a layup, but two made free throws pulled the Aggies within one again at 43-42. Josee Steadman drilled a 3-pointer to extend the Bronco lead and Pasco followed with a triple of her own to make it 49-42.

Pasco later added a layup to cap an 8-0 Boise State run. After Utah State converted two more free throws, the Broncos closed the quarter with another 8-0 surge to take a 62-46 lead into the fourth quarter.
